In 2008 whilst working in HK, the Beijing Olympics were on.

 

Due to the size of the event and weather conditions the Equestrian events were held in HK in the

evenings so the horses could be stabled at the air-conditioned racing stables. Horse racing is a very

favourable pastime in HK as the Chinese love to bet on the horses.

 

The first day of the dressage however caused a big stirring amongst the Chinese. They could not understand

how they could bet on dancing horses. By the time half time came about 50% of them has walked out.

My friend Gill and Ian who had come with me were lucky enough to have got tickets through my work

colleagues Roger Yuen and his family as you could only order them through HK residents.
